O-Virus Vampire stage 2 Sketch

An O-Virus "Vampire" in roughly the second stage of its evolution/mutation post-infection.

O-Virus stands for "Omega Virus"

The O-Virus is a new Resident Evil virus I came up with several years ago, long before making a dA account, I thought the idea was dead but now that i'm getting back into RE I've decided to bring it back.

From what I remember, the O-Virus was created with the extractions from a type of deep sea-dwelling flora discovered in the Mariana trench, mixed with the progenitor virus.
The plant from which the necessary components to create the O-Virus were drawn survived in the depths where the sun could not penetrate, and was carnivorous like the Venus Flytrap (Though because hardly any other life forms could survive in such conditions, most of the time the plants survived by becoming scavengers of decomposing corpses that drifted to the ocean floor).

When a human is infected with the O-Virus they do not die or rot like a T-Virus victim, rather they become vicious creatures of pure instinct (this increases more and more as the stages progress). They are able to hunt in packs like animals and communicate.
They are able to use weapons like normal humans, but over the course of their mutations they tend to use their own bodies as weapons instead.

Powers: As an infected human mutates they gain great physical strength, speed and stamina. They sprout claws and fangs to use in combat, and their sense of hearing and smell drastically increase to make up for their diminishing vision.

Weaknesses: There are several weaknesses of the O-Virus "Vampires", one of which that as they pass through the stages they become more and more sensitive to the light of the sun, this is due to the plant used to make the virus also being fatally allergic to sunlight. While in the early stages they can survive it, but in the later stages it becomes extremely fatal. Another is that their quickly lose their sense of sight (due to lack of exposure to light) though this is replaced by amazing hearing and sense of smell. There third main weakness is that they must constantly feed to stay alive. Their bodies have to constantly have access to fresh DNA (Blood) or their circulatory systems will begin to shut down and they will die.. however, it is possible for those in the final stages to be brought back by the Progenitor half of the virus, but in a weakened state.

The O-Virus is most commonly transmitted through bite.

Stages:

1. During Stage 1 the infected begins to lose their humanity. They become very aggressive and sensitive to light. Their eyes become red and they occasionally bleed from orifices in the body. Fingernails and bones begin to harden.

2. During Stage 2 Sclera become dark (almost black), teeth become sharp like fangs and hair begins to rapidly thin and recede. Skin becomes pale and veins become more prominent.

Over the course of stages 3 and 4 the infected becomes more and more monstrous. Arms mutate into fully functional wings with talons, ears enlarge in response to the quickly diminishing sense of sight. Fangs enlarge to make for a more powerful bite. Humanity is lost.

Just like the T-Virus the O-Virus is not limited to just humans, but I will have much more of that later.
