I'm not going to say that the Vandenreich were directly inspired by Vampires, but lately i've noticed several similarities.
To me personally they seem very vampiric in their own right, with the fact that their symbols are "crosses" being something rather ironic.

Ever since the Bount filler arc (In which Ishida was one of the main characters) i've had this strange feeling to associate the Quincy with Vampires, although prior to the Thousand Year War arc i've always thought of them as the "Vampire Slayers" or "Demon Slayers" of the Bleach world, the Bounts themselves being the Bleach equivalent of Vamps while the Hollows might be considered more demonic or simply as "bad spirits" though even still some of them have vampiric traits as well (devouring humans and the feeding on souls, which some Vampires are known to feed on, rather then just blood).

When the Vandenreich were first introduced they reminded me of the Nazi party, which makes sense considering Kubo gave them a German motif. They are also obviously very angelic, something I also find to be rather ironic.
Their king claims to "Hate war" I have a feeling that this claim might have actually been true, Juhabach does truly loath war yet because he fears returning to his former state he has no choice but to keep going.

Some of the similarities i've noticed between Vampires and the Vandenreich include:
-Their ability to fly (Although I am aware the manner of which they are able to fly appears more angelic then vampiric, a lot of what the Vandenreich seem to be about contradicts their true intentions. Like Abel on Trinity Blood or whats-his/her-face from Black Butler)
-Absorbing/feeding/draining energy from others to become more powerful/heal injuries
-Many of the Vandenreich look like Vampires such as As Nodt, Askin Nakk, Kirge Opie (Kinda lol) Driscoll (He had a widows peak!! That practically screams Vampire!) most strikingly of all their own leader Juhabach looks like an anime version of the real life Vlad the Impaler! (Look it up)
-They have certain powers associated with Shadows/Darkness
-They freakin love wearing capes
-All Germans are supernatural in some way or another
-Their leader "sleeps" for a very long time
-"My son, born in ze darkness Vahahaha!"
-:icongrimmjowthepanther: brought to my attention another similarity, Juhabach was the first of his kind "Quincy" who was able to pass his abilities on to humans, creating more Quincy. Not to mention the whole "Half breed" and "Pure Bloods" which is a common theme seen in vampire films such as the Blade series.

Like I said it's only a theory, just something I thought up at work today. What if Kubo was inspired by the Bount filler arc and decided to explore the Vampire theme further.. to me if it were true it would make the Vandenreich seem all the more badass.

I love this theory and I've felt the same way ever since we first saw Uryu drinking Yhwach's blood! There's also the fact that they've lived in the shadows for a thousand years, as opposed to the light!
